ScotDance Ontario is the
Professional Body representing
all matters dealing with
Highland Dancing in the
Province of Ontario and
operates under the umbrella of
ScotDance Canada

Competition Organizations

ScotDance Ontario, the registering agent for Ontario Highland Dancers, Teachers and
Competition Organizers.

Highland Dancers Association of Ontario (HDAO) - The Highland Dancers' Association of
Ontario was founded in 1949 with a view to promoting Highland Dance and Scottish culture
and to improve the conditions for dancers at Highland games in Ontario and is dedicated to
the same goals today. Host of the Ontario Closed Championships.

Western Ontario Highland Dance Association (WOHDA) - WOHDA is a volunteer, not-for
profit organization dedicated to promoting an interest in and study of Highland Dancing,
instruction to dancers by qualified professionals and dancer achievement through
competitions, festivals, workshops and financial support. Browse the Western Ontario

Ottawa Highland Dance Association (OHDA) - The Ottawa Highland Dancing Association
(OHDA) is a non-profit organization founded in 1951 to promote highland dancing in the
Ottawa area.

Eastern Canada Highland Dance Association (ECHDA) - Promotes, preserves and
advances the art of Highland Dancing in its traditional form as recommended by the
Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing.

Stormont Dundas and Glengarry Highand Dancing Association (SDGHDA) - The purpose
of the SDGHDA is to unite dancers in a cooperative effort to practise and to extend moral
standards and ideals.

Hamilton & District Highland Dance Teachers Association (HDHDTA) - Host 3 events
annually. May: The Nicola McMaster Memorial Competition; June: The Hamilton Highland

Arnprior Highland Dancing Association (AHDA) - Hosts of the Caitlin Stewart Memorial

Rob Roy Pipe Band and Highland Dancers of Kingston - Is one of only a few permanently
integrated band and dancer groups. Rob Roy is a strong community organization with a
